The NZ Rockshop concept was created in the mid 80's recognising that New Zealand needed a flagship music retail company. Building on extensive experience overseas in the UK and Europe, Managing Director Mick Webb bought an Auckland music store in 1986 and the first NZ Rockshop was opened.
The philosophy was simple. Buy quality product in bulk, promote aggressively through innovative marketing and offer real value for money. The business rapidly expanded and quickly added new outlets in all major cities across New Zealand.
